OT200.SN-GDZZJ.72CV is a SmartReflect light barrier from the Baumer OT200 series - it forms the beam between the sensor and a fixed background instead of a separate reflector. The background position Sde is set anywhere between 300 and 2000 mm, and an object is detected as soon as it enters the beam ahead of the background. The measured distance value is additionally available over IO-Link.

A parallel beam pays off where the pair sits at an awkward distance or the object passes close to one side: the spot does not grow with range, so the smallest detectable object and the alignment tolerance are the same at 0.5 m as at 5 m. The emitter is used with an O200 through-beam receiver, which carries the switching output - the emitter has none of its own.
