Photo sensor SLM50P6Q, slot 50 mm, PNP, LO/DO, 10-30VDC, M8 3-pin

SLM50P6Q is a Banner SLM series slot sensor: an opposed-mode emitter and receiver facing each other across a 50 mm slot in one U-shaped die-cast housing. There is nothing to align; molded-in arrows show where the visible red beam crosses the slot.

• Slot width: 50 mm; beam 5 mm from the outer edge
• Output: one PNP, Light or Dark Operate selected by switch, 100 mA
• Response: 500 µs; repeatability 95 µs
• Supply: 10-30 V DC, < 25 mA
• Housing: nickel-plated die-cast zinc, ABS end caps, acrylic windows

• Connection: integral M8 3-pin male connector

Used for counting, gear-tooth and edge detection, and part sensing on conveyor rails, with the object passing midway through the slot. Sensitivity is set with a single-turn potentiometer, turned down from maximum until the object is detected reliably. Green and amber LEDs show power and output.
