Photo sensor S18-2VPLPC-Q8, polarized retroreflective 6 m, PNP, NO/NC, 10-30VDC, M12 4-pin

S18-2VPLPC-Q8 is a Banner S18-2 series polarized retroreflective photo sensor in an 18 mm plastic barrel, with a 6 m range to a BRT-84 reflector. The polarizing filter rejects light returned by shiny objects, so they break the beam instead of acting as a reflector.

• Sensing range: 6 m with a BRT-84 reflector
• Output: complementary PNP, Light Operate (black) and Dark Operate (white), 100 mA total
• Response: 1.5 ms ON, 0.75 ms OFF; repeatability 100 µs
• Supply: 10-30 V DC (10-24 V DC above +55 °C), 16 mA
• Housing: ABS, PMMA window, M18x1 threaded barrel, PBT nuts included

Needs a reflector, ordered separately. Sensitivity is set with a single-turn potentiometer. A green LED shows power and flashes at a marginal signal; the amber LED shows that the black-wire (Light Operate) output is on.

Vibration tested to MIL-STD-202F, method 201A; shock to method 213B (75 g operating).
