Photo sensor S18-2VNDS-Q8, diffuse 300 mm, NPN, NO/NC, 10-30VDC, M12 4-pin

S18-2VNDS-Q8 is a Banner S18-2 series diffuse photo sensor in an 18 mm plastic barrel. It detects objects by the visible red light they reflect back, up to 300 mm from the sensor.

• Sensing range: 300 mm on a 90 % white test card
• Output: complementary NPN, Light Operate (black) and Dark Operate (white), 100 mA total
• Response: 1.5 ms ON, 0.75 ms OFF; repeatability 100 µs
• Supply: 10-30 V DC (10-24 V DC above +55 °C), 16 mA
• Housing: ABS, PMMA window, M18x1 threaded barrel, PBT nuts included
• Environment: IP67, -40...+70 °C
• Connection: integral M12 4-pin male connector

The range applies to a white card; darker objects are detected at a shorter distance. Sensitivity is set with a single-turn potentiometer. A green LED shows power and flashes at a marginal signal; the amber LED shows that the black-wire (Light Operate) output is on.
