Photo sensor QS18VP6LVQ8, retroreflective 6.5 m, PNP, NO/NC, 10-30VDC, M12 4-pin

QS18VP6LVQ8 is a Banner QS18 series retroreflective photo sensor with a visible red beam and a 6.5 m range with a BRT-84 reflector. The object is detected when it breaks the beam between the sensor and the reflector.

• Sensing range: 6.5 m with BRT-84 reflector
• Output: complementary PNP, Light Operate and Dark Operate, 100 mA each
• Response: 600 µs ON/OFF; repeatability 150 µs
• Supply: 10-30 V DC, < 25 mA
• Housing: ABS, 18 mm threaded nose or side mounting, 3 mm hardware included

The beam is not polarized, so shiny objects can reflect it back like a reflector would; for those a polarized model fits better. A green LED indicator shows power; the amber one shows light sensed and flashes at marginal excess gain. Sensitivity is set with a single-turn potentiometer.
