QS18VP6AFF200Q5 is a Banner QS18 series photo sensor with adjustable foreground suppression and a visible red 640 nm LED beam. It is aimed at a fixed background up to 200 mm away and switches when an object blocks the light coming back from that background, whatever the object's colour or shape.

Typical use is a sensor above a conveyor belt: the belt is the background, and boxes of any colour are detected once they are taller than the minimum separation, more than 10 mm on a black belt at 200 mm. The cutoff is set with a five-turn adjustment screw.
