Optical fibre PIRS1X166UMPMAL, plastic, opposed array 33.5 mm, 16 cores, side view, 2 m

PIRS1X166UMPMAL is a Banner plastic fibre-optic array for opposed mode: the rectangular sensing head carries 16 fibre cores of Ø0.25 mm side by side along 33.5 mm, so a small object anywhere along the array interrupts the light. The beam exits from the side of the head.

The control ends are unterminated and are cut to length with the PFC-4 cutter supplied with the fibre. The acrylic core is damaged by acids, strong alkalis and solvents; Banner recommends plastic fibres for visible-light sensors only.
