Safety light curtain S4BR30-300-S, receiver, 300 mm, 30 mm resolution, Type 4

S4BR30-300-S is the receiver of a Banner EZ-SCREEN S4B Type 4 safety light curtain with a 300 mm defined area and 30 mm resolution (hand detection). When any beam is interrupted, both OSSD safety outputs switch off; the lighted end cap shows clear, weak beam, blocked beam or fault from a distance.

• Defined area: 300 mm; resolution 30 mm; response time 7.5 ms
• Operating range: 0.1...12 m
• Outputs: two redundant PNP OSSD safety outputs, 24 V DC, max 0.5 A each; configurable pin for weak beam output or IO-Link (COM2)
• Supply: +24 V DC ±15 %, 96 mA typical without load
• Housing: anodised aluminium, 38 x 40 mm, glass-filled polycarbonate end caps
• Environment: IP65, -20...+55 °C, indoor use
• Connection: RD (removable disconnect) socket; 5-pin or 8-pin RD cordset with M12 ordered separately

With the 8-pin RD cordset the receiver monitors the contactors itself (EDM) and needs no external safety module; with the 5-pin cordset it is wired to a safety relay, safety controller or safety PLC. Reduced resolution can be switched on to ignore one blocked beam, and up to four pairs can be cascaded.

Type 4 per IEC 61496-1 and -2, Category 4 PL e per EN ISO 13849-1, SIL3 per IEC 61508. MTTFd 287 years, PFHd 3.08 × 10⁻⁹ (single pair).
