Connector BMSWS8151-8.5, M12 male straight, 5-pin B-coded, PROFIBUS-DP, shielded, 6...8.5mm cable, IP67

BMSWS8151-8.5 is a field-wireable M12 male connector for PROFIBUS-DP. It is assembled on site onto a cut length of bus cable, so a damaged connector or an awkward cable run can be repaired without replacing a whole cordset. The cable screen is picked up by an iris spring and carried through to the metal housing.

• Connector: M12 × 1 male, straight, B-coded, 5-pin, gold-plated CuZn contacts
• Bus: PROFIBUS-DP up to 12 Mbit/s, overall shield connected via iris spring
• Rating: 4 A, 125 V, contact resistance ≤ 3 mΩ, over 100 mating cycles
• Termination: screw/clamp connection for 0.37...0.75 mm² cores, cable diameter 6...8.5 mm
• Housing: nickel-plated die-cast zinc with M18 × 1 screw-in thread, 62 mm long
• IP67 when screwed together, −25 °C to +85 °C, cULus recognized

It is used to terminate PROFIBUS-DP segments at drives, remote I/O and field devices, and for repairs in cabinets and on machines where a pre-moulded cordset cannot be routed. No crimping tool is needed — the cores are clamped and the gland is tightened by hand.
