Fire Pond Water Level Monitoring

Continuous level monitoring with a hydrostatic sensor and outdoor display

Between checks, the pond level is unknown. A hydrostatic sensor at the bottom and a display at the edge show the level continuously - even when nobody has looked in a week.

The problem

Pond level: enough or not?

A fire pond looks full. How much water is actually there is only known if someone has recently checked.

 Measuring means going on-site

Level checking requires physical presence — rain, frost, or snow cannot replace it. Employees find reasons not to go.

 Inaccurate and irregular data

Measurement with a ruler is approximate. Once a week or less — if anyone remembers at all. Between measurements, the level can be critically low.

 No warning for low level

If the water is too low, it is only discovered when someone comes and looks. During inspection — or in a fire.

Solution

Continuous measurement, point control, and visual indication in one system

The display shows the current level

Baumer DFON display with a large digit screen is visible from several meters away — the operator sees the level immediately, without connecting or searching.

Hydrostatic sensor measures the level

BD Sensor LMP 307 with a stainless steel membrane continuously measures the water pressure at the bottom of the pond — and converts it into an accurate level reading.

Low level warning

The display changes color to red when the level drops below a set threshold. The red screen is visible from a distance — a signal that action is needed.

Secure mounting in outdoor conditions

Specially designed stainless steel support keeps the sensor and display in a stable position — sun, rain, frost, and ice do not interfere.

What it changes in daily life

Fewer trips, faster response

Low level warning
When the level drops below the norm, the display turns red. It is noticeable immediately - there is no need to wait for the next scheduled check.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Installation on site takes one working day. From order to launch, it usually takes 1-2 weeks.

No - the basic version operates directly from the sensor 4-20 mA loop, no separate power is needed. If you choose a relay for further signal transmission, additional connection may be required - we clarify this based on the specific configuration.

In the basic configuration, the display shows data on site. The solution can be supplemented with a device that transmits data to a phone or computer.
Yes - the sensor and display are designed for outdoor use, even in frost and snow.
