TAS — Turck Automation Suite

Turck Automation Suite (TAS) is an IIoT and service platform for managing Turck devices on industrial Ethernet networks. The current version is V2.0. The platform consists of four module sets: TAS Desktop, TAS Edge, TAS Cloud and TAS Mobile.

In a typical Turck device estate — IO-Link masters, CODESYS controllers, RFID readers — each device family has its own configuration tool. IP addresses are assigned one at a time, firmware versions checked manually, IO-Link parameters moved file to file. TAS consolidates these operations under one interface, each with batch capability.

Network View

Network View scans the industrial Ethernet network and finds every available Turck device, listing each with its information: device type, serial number, IP address, firmware version, and port status.

  • IP assignment — assign IP addresses and passwords.
  • Firmware update — single device or device groups.
  • IO-Link config — import and export configurations.
  • Web access — open the device's web configuration page directly from TAS.
  • CSV export — export the network inventory for documentation and collaboration.

Batch operations

Whatever TAS can do to one device, it can do to a selected group: firmware uploads, IO-Link configuration imports, ARGEE and BEEP deployments, CODESYS application management. On large networks with many same-type devices, batch operations substantially reduce commissioning and maintenance time.

IO-Link View

A focused view for IO-Link infrastructure. Available actions:

  • Wink - physical device identification on site.
  • IODD Configurator - sensor parameterization using vendor IODD files.
  • Device Monitor - device data and status view.
  • Filtered view of selected IO-Link devices.

IO-Link Apps

Device-level apps that run plug-and-play with no additional installation. Each one is designed for a specific product segment.

  • IODD Configurator - parameterizes IO-Link devices from any manufacturer; process data is plotted graphically.
  • Radar Monitor - radar sensor data visualization with adjustable filters and measurement windows.
  • Vibration Monitor - vibration and temperature data visualization for the CMVT sensor, with alerts on critical values.
  • Magnetic Field Monitor - data visualization and configuration for Turck IO-Link magnetic field detectors.
  • Cable Monitor - voltage, current, and temperature for M12Plus connectors, enabling early detection of voltage drops and defects.

CODESYS View

Run operations across multiple Turck CODESYS controllers on the network at once. Available actions: download, save, batch upload (restore), and program start/stop (cold start, warm start). CODESYS user accounts and passwords are managed through TAS.

ARGEE and BEEP

ARGEE is Turck's logic software that turns Turck Ethernet I/O modules into IP67 Field Logic Controllers — control logic runs directly on the device, with no external PLC. TAS deploys ARGEE programs to device groups in batch and manages them centrally.

BEEP (Backplane Ethernet Extension Protocol) reduces the IP addresses an industrial network needs — up to 32 Turck I/O devices can operate through a single BEEP master IP address. TAS centrally manages BEEP configurations, including import and export.

RFID toolset

Demo and analysis tools for both UHF and HF RFID — intended for setup, feasibility work, and on-site commissioning.

  • Gate Applications — simulates bulk tag detection typical of RFID gate setups; verifies that every tag is detected with sufficient confidence.
  • Tag Trace — identifies optimal start and stop times for read/write operations in moving applications.
  • Tag Population — measures read/write performance at different tag positions on a static object; the UHF reader steps up its transmit power and reports the minimum needed for reliable reads.
  • HF Tag Actions — UID scanning and list creation, metadata and memory reads (hex, ASCII), data writes to memory areas; also detects detuning of HF read/write heads on long-range TNSLR devices.

UHF — Tag Population, power level testing.

HF Tag Actions — tag data read and write.

TAS Edge

TAS Edge installs on a local IPC, server, or other hardware running Linux or Windows. It provides local device management — configuration, commissioning, and diagnostics on the device or the local network. TAS Edge supplies data for factory acceptance testing and AI-supported anomaly detection, continuous data for condition monitoring and predictive analytics, and cloud connectivity with container integration for MES, BMS, and control systems. Data visualization is available in test mode for proof-of-concept work.

TAS Cloud

A modular cloud service set for remote maintenance and condition monitoring. Customers pay only for the modules they use.

  • Maintenance Manager - create, schedule, execute, and document maintenance plans without programming.
  • VPN - secure remote access channel with full functional reach.vd]
  • MQTT - encrypted communication with external systems over the MQTT IIoT standard.
  • Connectivity - Turck TX HMIs, edge controllers, BL20 and BL67 modular I/O systems. TBEN-L-PLC IP67 PLC is planned.
