Inside the block
Safety and standard devices on one block
Inputs accept dry-contact and solid-state safety devices, ISD chains and standard control signals. The two outputs drive final switching devices (FSD) in single- or dual-channel mode at 1 A per channel, with output-state readback for faster fault detection.
Configured in Studio 5000
The block is configured in Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 using the Banner EDS file - no additional software is needed. The file includes port presets for common devices: e-stops, safety light curtains and safety switches.
Machine-mountable
The IP67 housing measures 262 x 74 mm, so the block sits on the machine rather than in the cabinet. Model RSIO-L5-6SI2SO-C uses M12 L-code power (IEC 61076-2-111) and passes through up to 16 A. Operating range -25 to +70 °C.
Several blocks on one network
The block has a built-in two-port Ethernet switch. Several RSio blocks connect in daisy-chain, star, a combination of both, or a DLR ring, without using up external switch ports.

Solutions built on RSio
Solutions for conveyor lines and palletizing cells with RSio, ISD devices, and Banner safety components.
Independent safety zones for conveyor lines
A separate safety zone for each conveyor line, with a chain of e-stops and rope pulls. On a stop, the system names the device that tripped and the other lines keep running.
