Completion of the research project “Development of a tracking and location optimisation solution for complex production processes to improve plant efficiency (WITPO)”
The IT Competence Centre is implementing the project “Information and Communication Technologies Competence Centre”, id. Nr. 5.1.1.2.i.0/1/22/A/CFLA/008.
The aim of the project “Competence Centre for Information and Communication Technologies” is to increase the competitiveness of entrepreneurs in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector by implementing, in cooperation with scientific institutions, at least 12 sectoral and cross-sectoral studies in the areas of Business Process Analysis Technologies and Natural Language Technologies until 30 June 2025, leading to the development and production of new products and technologies by at least 10 entrepreneurs.
SIA “DATI Group” and SIA “WILL sensors” research project Nr. 1.1 “Development of a tracking and location optimization solution for complex production processes to increase the efficiency of the production plant (WITPO)”
The pilot development phase of the research project and the final activity of the research project “Validation of the platform in a real-life environment” were completed in the second quarter of 2025. The objective of the research project was to develop a solution for tracking and optimising the placement of stock items in production, suitable for complex production processes, in the form of an open-source, horizontally scalable and combined environment-based platform, using customised IoT solutions as well as data from local systems, will provide a digital replica of the inventory movement process in production, which, together with the developed optimisation models, will provide data-driven recommendations for the optimal placement and location of stock items, thereby improving the inventory management process and increasing productivity. The objective has been achieved and the research project has been successfully concluded.
Research project implementation period: 01.11.2023 - 30.04.2025
Total cost of the research project - EUR 206 180.94
Recovery Fund co-financing - EUR 149 497.11
The project is co-financed by the Recovery Fund within the framework of the Operational Programme “Reform 5.1.r. of the Latvian Recovery and Resilience Mechanism Plan and Investment Axis ”Increasing Productivity through R&D Investment“ Reform 5.1.1.r. ”Innovation Management and Motivation of Private R&D Investment“ Investment 5.1.1.2.i. ”Support Instrument for Development of Innovation Clusters“ within the Competence Centre Rules of Implementation”.
